It’s that time of year when families are pulling out their RVs from storage to prepare for the upcoming camping season. Families with RVs know there’s nothing quite like waking up in the Northwoods to the smell of pine trees and falling asleep in the comfort of your own RV.

1. Ahnapee River Trails Campground – Algoma, WI
Located south of Door County, Ahnapee River Trails Campground is a quiet, relaxed RV campground near Lake Michigan in Algoma. Complete with a heated pool, the 65-site campground has 45 sites with 30-amp service. Visitors often rent kayaks, hike or bike the nearby Ahnapee State Trail, or canoe and fish along the beautiful Ahnapee River. Families can take a day trip up to Cave Point County Park in Door County for additional sightseeing and fun.
2. Blue Top Resort and Campground – Fremont, WI
Located in “the white bass capital of the world” on Partridge Lake, Blue Top Resort and Campground is packed with things to do. Families can enjoy an on-site basketball court, horseshoe pits, playground, sand volleyball courts, and a swimming lake with a sandy beach and raft. One of the best things about this campground, however, is the access to the water: rent a boat or kayak through the campground or choose to fish perch, crappie, bluegill, walleye, large and smallmouth bass, and more.

3. Heavens Up North Family Campground – Lakewood, WI
With campsites carved right out of the beautiful Northwoods wilderness, visitors of Heavens Up North Family Campground appreciate the large, shaded, private sites for their RVs. This campground is filled with activities for everyone in the family from a swimming pool to a playground, basketball court, 9-hole mini golf course, volleyball court, game room, horseshoe, bag toss, bocce ball, and croquet. Nearby, visitors can hang out at local lakes or go whitewater rafting or tubing.
4. Hi-Pines Campground – Eagle River, WI
Located on 75 acres of land in Eagle River, Hi-Pines Campground offers a balance of tranquil relaxation and fun activities for the family. The campground has direct access to ATV trails for those who enjoy ATVing and children and adults enjoy swimming and hanging out on the inflatable obstacle course in their sandy swimming lake. The campground is located only two miles from downtown Eagle River for even more things to do.

5. High Cliff State Park – Sherwood, WI
Located on the northeast side of Lake Winnebago, High Cliff State Park is conveniently located close to the Fox Valley but makes it feel like you’re up north. With gorgeous views of Lake Winnebago from the top of limestone cliffs to miles of hiking, biking, or horseback riding trails, and a sandy beach for water lovers, you’ll never wonder what to do next.
6. Indian Shores Resort – Woodruff, WI
Take your family on an adventure in the Northwoods at Indian Shores Resort in Woodruff. The campgrounds are located on the shores of Tomahawk Lake, and visitors can utilize the boat docks and rentals and enjoy the beach or water-view restaurant during their stay. An on-site fish cleaning house makes it easy to enjoy your catch for dinner, plus the pool, playground, mini golf area, and basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts provide fun for people of all ages.

7. Yogi Bear’s Jellystone RV Resort & Campground – Fremont, WI
Known as the campground where “everyone can do their own thing … together,” Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park in Fremont has so much to do. From the campground pool with a waterslide to an 18-hole mini golf course, gem mining area, game room, jump pad, and nature trails, young visitors have plenty of ways to stay entertained. Not to mention, the campgrounds have a catch and release fishing pond, bait shop, access to Partridge Lake where visitors can utilize the docks and boat ramp.
